Crafting Ceramic Jewelry: A Journey of Artistry and Inspiration by Anna Kitsou

I am exclusively engaged in designing and crafting ceramic jewelry.

A ceramic jewel carries the energy that our own body possesses. It is made from the four elements of nature: earth, water, air, and fire.

For a jewel to be made, it undergoes 5 stages until completion. Each stage requires special techniques with an emphasis on detail, as every small piece is cut, shaped, and painted by hand.

Completing the process for creating a jewel that can last for 5 days is always a challenge for me.

I want my jewelry to be entirely handmade in every sense of the word. The material I use, my clay, perfectly fulfills this need. I have to make them from scratch, without having any ready-made element in my hands. I need to create this element myself. I work with a hard and inflexible material. My goal is its complete transformation. Pieces that are perfectly flexible, light, embracing the body.

The quality of the jewel is achieved through the proper selection and use of materials for a perfect result. The price of the jewel depends on the quality and uniqueness of its design.

For me, it's this magical feeling to take a shapeless mass of clay and create something unique from scratch.

When I work, I think of forms, shapes, textures. Composition, harmony, and balance.

Color and carvings characterize and determine my work. The arrangement and symmetry of shapes are common characteristics.

I draw inspiration from the earth, Greece, ancient and contemporary civilizations.

My goal is, with reference to our culture, to create contemporary jewelry. I can be inspired by a detail in the architecture of a building, from ancient frescoes to abstract patterns of architectural rhythms.

They appeal to the modern and dynamic woman who wants to stand out. My goal was to create handmade ceramic jewelry affordable and easy to wear for the general public, without losing their quality and uniqueness.

I am pleased to find that my jewelry is worn comfortably by both a very young girl and a considerably older one. From the morning at the office to the most formal events.

Greek women are among those who truly have a personal style and know how to choose what suits them. They seek the different jewel and have already moved away from its classical notion. Through my work and personal contact with women, I understand that they seek the special and appreciate the handmade.

Every series of jewelry is unique to me. In my contact with the woman who seeks a jewel, my goal is to stand out and suggest designs and color shades with which she feels comfortable and beautiful wearing.
