Mycenaean Aesthetics: Ceramic Jewelry by Anna Kitsou
Anna Kitsou Ceramic Jewellery, when contemporary inspiration meets cultural heritage and jewelry creations affirm the timelessness of our ancient Greek civilization...
The technique of Mycenaean jewelry is a source of inspiration for another series of my jewelry. My goal is not to replicate Mycenaean jewelry, but with reference to our culture, to create contemporary jewelry.

Using a primal material, my clay, I connect elements of our ancient Greek civilization in creating modern jewelry, capturing the timelessness of our cultural heritage. In form, detail, and carving.
Jewelry that "embraces" the body, as if sewn onto clothing, like Mycenaean ornaments. They create the feeling of being one with the garment. Carving and repetition of the pattern of Mycenaean ornaments and jewelry are the two main characteristics of this series.
